Posters from similar documentaries
These are a few posters that I found on the internet advertising various music documentaries. They are simple yet effective posters that get their point across to the audience. The text is easy to read and gets the intended message across without overloading the audience with information.
The images that are used on the posters are all relative to the documentary and tell us something about it, be it a hint at what can be expected in the documentary or the people involved. The colours used in the posters are not garish and bright, but also plain and simple so that the poster is easy on the eye and the audience find it easier to read and pick out certain informtion.
Some posters, like the Kill Your Idols one, even tells you some of the themes that are in the documentary,others give reviews (Anvil, Johnny Cash)and the Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' has a statement that will attract the audience and create hype around the film.
Taking these points into account, I also aim to keep my poster simple and effective.
